One of the activities Michael and I do in every city is a walking tour. Whether it be self guided or with a tour company, we find it is the best way to get the feel of a city when you first arrive. Now it was Vienna’s turn!
In 2012 Vienna Austria was named the worlds most livable city, for the fourth year in a row. During our recent visit, it became obvious to us why this is so.
There are plenty of different kinds of food and dishes that are considered signature to Austria, but when you start to look at the separate regions of the country, that’s when the cuisine really starts to come into its own. Each region has their own dishes that they are very proud to call their own, and one of the most distinctive of these is Vienna.
Let’s just get one thing straight – Austrian Cuisine is a lot more than just apple strudel.
Road tripping around Austria we drove into a beautiful little city called Klagenfurt. There is plenty to do here and after a busy day there is nothing like like going out and enjoying the best the Austrian Cuisine has to offer. This is what we recommend for your night out.
Klagenfurt is the sixth largest city in Austria, and the capital of the state of Carinthia. The city is completely soaked in local history, and many of the building you find here date way back to the 16th or 17th centuries, making it a beautiful city to walk around and enjoy the views.
