I am one of those people who just loves hotels. I love walking into a freshly cleaned room; I love having someone else make my bed for me every day; I love getting fresh clean towels every day without having to do laundry; I love that I don’t have to vacuum or clean.
However, one thing that I don’t love about some hotels is the lack of space. So when we walked in to our room at Maximilian Apartments & Hotel I was very happy with what we were greeted with. We were in what they call a Luxury Suite and there was more space than in most one bedroom apartments!
However, it wasn’t actually the room that impressed me the most; it was the garden area. There in an exquisite rose garden in the middle of the grounds which all the apartments surround. There are seats in the garden so you can chill and relax and smell the roses. It really added something very special to the hotel. The grounds aside, there was a lot to love about Maximilian.
There are 54 rooms on the property ranging from studio rooms to luxury suites (30 – 90 sqm). All the rooms and suites are equipped with modern kitchens, with a larger kitchen available in the luxury suites. The rooms are noise insulated which is great if you want to have a sleep in (I am the queen of sleep ins!). We didn’t hear a peep!
What I loved about the room we were in was the balcony that overlooked the rose garden. We sat out there with a glass of wine and enjoyed the view. It was very relaxing after a day of walking around the city.
There is a wellness and spa area at Maximilian, which has a massage room, sauna, steam room, relaxation area and a fitness room. Of course I didn’t use the fitness area cause I was to busy eating, but it looked good from where I was standing!
The WiFi, which is important to a blogger of course, was great – A fast and steady connection. There is also a large LCD television and DVD player in each room which Michael loved.
They have a restaurant, Kleines Max, which is open daily and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The buffet breakfast was really good and as was the dinner menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals there.
The location is perfect if you want to explore the city on foot. We had a car but didn’t use it at all. We walked everywhere and had no problems getting from the hotel to anywhere in the city.
The staff here were extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely go back when we visit Munich again.
