We had been looking forward to our Hawaii trip for so long.  After five months of traveling in the winter climate, we were more than ready for some sun, sand and surf.  Our last visit to this beautiful region was 10 years ago so we were eager to see how much had changed in that time.  Hawaii was our first international trip together, and the catalyst event that lead us to our nomadic travel life.

Modern Sophistication at Vive Hotel Waikiki - Entrance

Not only were we looking forward to Hawaii itself, but we were also looking forward to our stay at VIVE Hotel Waikiki, having heard such great reviews about it.

VIVE Hotel Waikiki is the newest boutique hotel in the area.  Located a mere 2 short blocks away from the beaches of Waikiki, the hotel is central to everything without being right in the middle of the crowds.

The décor is a mix of modern, vibrancy and sophistication, with an African twist.  I was really taken by the décor as soon as we walked in.

The room we were in was amazing!  Located on the top floor (floor 22) meant we had wonderful views of Waikiki, including the gorgeous Pacific Ocean.  The large king size bed was a treat to sleep on, with linen so comfortable it took all my willpower to get out of bed in the mornings.   The wall mounted flat screen television meant we could be a little lazy and watch TV in bed after a long day of walking around Waikiki.

The WiFi, which is free, had a great connection; something which is of course important to travel bloggers!  VIVE advertises ‘high speed WiFi’ and they deliver; not something I can say about every hotel.

Breakfast is included and every morning they have an array of fresh fruit and pastries on offer.  What I loved most about the breakfast was the ‘dining area’; instead of traditional tables and chairs, the “living area”, as they call it, is filled with lush couches to encourage relaxation at any time of the day.

VIVE Hotel thinks of everything a visitor may forget, including the use of free beach towels and chairs.  You can take down them down to the beach and spend the day relaxing under a palm tree.  You will also find a great concierge desk that will be able to recommend great tours, restaurants and anything else you may need during your visit.

There are 125 rooms at the hotel; 108 Cosmopolitan Rooms, 18 Lifestyle Junior Suites and 3 Penthouse Suites.  All rooms come with an in-room safe, bathroom amenities, bathrobes and cable Television.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at VIVE Hotel.  The staff were friendly, the rooms were great and the location was perfect.  I would absolutely stay here again when we visit Hawaii next time.  If you prefer a boutique hotel then VIVE Hotel Waikiki is the place for you!
